Every now and then, your boss will call for a meeting to check up on your progress. This may mean that you have to prepare yourself for a big-time interrogation about your reports. Do not be anxious. Make yourself appear professional and intelligent during meetings with these simple guidelines.

Gussy up before going to a meeting session. Take a minute or more to check your appearance. Be sure that what you are wearing is presentable. Check for crumpled parts of your cloth and straighten them up. Retouch for a more refreshed look, but keep your make-up in moderation. You are going to a meeting and not a party. If you look too daring, your co-workers may get distracted and start to pay more attention to how you look rather than what you say.

Be active and create a presence. Before you speak, be sure that other people are listening, or you might just end up talking to the wind. Get their attention by straightening up on your seat or if it will not be to out of the blue, you can stand up and say your opinion.

Always be positive. Start to talk positively and end with the same note. Believe in what you are saying and others will be convinced. Avoid saying negative statements at all times. Learn to incorporate euphemism if you have something to say that is not good to hear.

Don’t be pushed around by more experienced colleagues. It cannot be avoided that some show-off co-workers will interrupt your speech but do not be taken aback by this. Keep your cool then indicate, in a respectful manner, that you have not yet finished stating your point and that he would be given time to say his opinion after you have made your point clear.

Just because you are not the boss does not mean that you have to follow everything they say. People with higher level than you may start to criticize your testimony. Don’t get too nervous when they start throwing questions at you. Give a professional and logical answer. In case your answer is being questioned, do not retract what you said if you know that you are in the right position. If you are asked something which you have not prepared an answer for, then just calmly say, "I will check on that matter."

Throw away the crash and burn career look. Look smart and shine during your corporate meetings. For professional looking office furniture, look to hire the latest tables and chairs for your company.
